South Carolina Artist & Athlete Visa Attorney
At Pinilla Law Frim, we can represent artists, actors, musicians, athletes, and talent agents who are seeking non-immigrant, temporary P visas or O visas to work or perform in the United States. Our immigration attorneys can help you determine which visa is right for you and help you navigate the entertainment visa immigration process.
Both O visas and P visas are temporary US work visas for foreign nationals. While both of these immigrant visas are made available for individuals in the entertainment industry, they are designed for different circumstances.
O Visas – O-1A and O-1B
Both the O1-A visa and the O-1B visa may be granted to individuals with an extraordinary ability in their professional field. The O-1A visa is specifically for those in the sciences, education, business or athletics. The O1-B visa is available to actors, musicians and artists. Past achievement is key to the approval of these work visas. Additional O visas are available for applicants’ immediate family members.
P Visas – P-1A and P-1B
The P-1A visa is intended for athletes who participate in individual sports or as part of and internationally recognized team. The P-1 visas allow foreign athletes, artists and entertainers to enter the United States for a specific event, competition or performance. The P-1B visa is specifically for entertainment groups. At least 75% of the petitioned group must have been together for more than one year prior to the time of filing of the petition.
